Standard Fly Vs. Extended Fly

What's the difference? 

We offer our Pioneer Series tents in two fly styles. Overall, each fly style does not change the sleeping size of the tent when deployed but more does it depend on the overall set up size of the annex/lower vestibule of the tent that is included with the purchase of your pioneer series tent. 

Standard Fly- After setting up your annex you will realize the annex on your tent is more like a separated room that is attached underneath your sleeping platform of your tent when deployed. To enter the annex from your sleeping area, you will need to access it by climbing out of your tent, down the ladder exposing yourself to the outside elements, to then re-enter your annex room that comes equipped with 3 exterior doors including mesh doors to prevent bugs and help with air flow, as well as an access door to your vehicle, and finally a removable heavy duty PVC floor. In most cases the Standard Fly version of our tent is for the user that does not expect to use the annex of their tent often or at all or has a very short vehicle in which the annex would not be very useful. 

Extended Fly- When setting up the annex of your tent you will notice that the annex, when fully set up, is attached to the extended portion of the tent to give you a final look of a mud-like room with it all being enclosed to itself. To enter the annex from your sleeping area, you will need to access it by climbing out of your tent, down the ladder, to then be in your annex, without having to expose yourself to the outside elements. The annex room comes equipped with 3 exterior doors including mesh doors to prevent bugs and help with air flow, as well as an access door to your vehicle, and finally a removable heavy duty PVC floor. In most cases the Extended Fly version of our tent is for the user that plans to use their annex more often whether it's used for an additional sleeping room or for a storage area for their gear while camping.
